Carpet Protection

Carpet protection has been around for sometime but is not as wildly used as you might think. The reason for this is that it does get applied at the mill when the carpet is made but normally on top end carpets.

What you have to remember is that with any coat of protection it will wear with time and because of this will need topping up. With this wear comes reduced protection. Not to say that it will not work only that the time you have to clean up any spillages is also reduced.

With regards to which brand well they are all about the same really.

One draw back with carpet protection is when you have it topped up you will need to stay off the carpet for sometime as you don’t want to walk the product off the carpet. This can be a problem if you want to use the room, but its worth it as if you need to use the room then you its money well spent if the carpets gets lots of traffic.

Is carpet protection worth the money? Yes. But at PileDoctors we are doing our best to change things in this area. One reason that it not used as much as you might think is that carpet cleaners sell carpet protection as an extra when cleaning carpets. This can in some cases double the cost of the clean.

The real silly thing here is that it does not cost that much to apply. So why would carpet cleaners not want to apply it within the deal? It makes sense to me as if other carpet cleaners are like me you want to go back and clean those carpets again. So why would you not want to protect that carpet as if the customer spills anything and it stains. its unlikely that the dry stain will be able to be removed if the carpet does not have any protection.

I am sorry to say it its greed. Well we offer one area of stain protection with every clean so you can protect the high risk areas. And with one of our clean it’s included in the price for all areas.

Our advice to you if you don’t use us is to put this to your carpet cleaner that its in his interest to apply carpet protection. If he wants the job in the first place and second it will make his job easier when he returns a second time.
